NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended its psycho-social counselling and tele-support services for students, parents and schools following the declaration of the Class XII board examination results for 2026.The board said students and parents can continue to seek guidance, clarification and assistance regarding results, evaluation and post-result concerns through CBSE’s official support channels. The move comes amid heightened discussions around examination stress, result-related anxiety and post-evaluation queries after the Class XII pass percentage fell to 85.20% this year.Support services to continue till June 1CBSE had originally launched the first phase of its annual psycho-social counselling programme on January 6, 2026, ahead of the board examinations. The support initiative was scheduled to remain active till June 1.According to CBSE, the counselling services were introduced to help students deal with examination-related stress, emotional pressure and anxiety during the Class X and XII examination cycle.The board stated that the services remain available for students and parents seeking emotional support or assistance regarding result-related concerns after the declaration of board examination outcomes.Toll-free helpline available round the clockAs part of the support mechanism, CBSE is continuing its 24×7 toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) service through the number 1800-11-8004.Students can access guidance in both Hindi and English regarding stress management, preparation-related concerns, frequently asked questions and important CBSE-related information.The board said the helpline has been designed to provide immediate support and accessible guidance for students dealing with examination pressure and post-result stress.Counsellors available across India and abroadCBSE’s tele-counselling service remains operational from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on working days. Students and parents can interact directly with trained professionals, including principals, school counsellors, psychologists and special educators associated with CBSE-affiliated schools.According to the board, 73 professionals are part of the counselling network. Of these, 61 counsellors are based in India, while 12 are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.CBSE has also continued to provide digital resources related to stress management, emotional well-being and study planning through its official website. The board said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to support students with “sensitivity and care” during the examination and post-result period.
