Pep Guardiola reportedly targeting £13.5m Barcelona mansion just metres from estranged wife's home amid Man City exit
Pep Guardiola is reportedly eyeing a £13.5 million Barcelona mansion located less than 100 yards from his former marital home with Cristina Serra.

Pep Guardiola’s future plans are already becoming a major talking point after reports emerged that the departing Manchester City manager has been eyeing a luxury property in Barcelona worth around £13.5 million. The renewed interest in Guardiola’s next move follows Monday night’s bombshell reports that the Spaniard is preparing to leave Manchester City this summer, bringing an end to a trophy-laden decade at the Etihad that transformed both the club and English football itself. While Guardiola is expected to attract interest from several major clubs and national teams once his Manchester City departure becomes official, recent reports about his plans away from football have also resurfaced, particularly claims linking him with a luxury move back to Barcelona.

The Sun previously reported Guardiola was considering a luxury Barcelona property

According to The Sun’s November 2025 report, Guardiola had set his sights on a newly built luxury mansion located in Barcelona’s exclusive Pedralbes district, one of the city’s wealthiest and most private neighbourhoods. The property reportedly includes sea views, a private swimming pool, gym facilities and a jacuzzi, while developers described the home in promotional material as a “super-luxe villa” designed around privacy and expansive open surroundings.

A brochure cited in the report stated: “The space, light and views are more powerful than anything that can be built. “The scope of each super-luxe villa stretches far beyond its four walls and expansive grounds. “The only limit is the horizon – as far as the eye can see.” The development also reportedly features extensive landscaping designed to shield residents from public attention, including “evergreen oaks, lemon trees, cypresses, magnolias and ancient olive trees.” One of the most heavily discussed details surrounding the report, however, was the property’s location. The mansion Guardiola was reportedly interested in sits less than 100 yards, roughly 90 metres, from the £8.5 million marital home he previously shared with his estranged wife Cristina Serra.

Guardiola’s personal life has remained under scrutiny throughout the final stage of his City career

Reports surrounding Guardiola’s marriage have continued to attract significant attention over the last two years. It was widely reported in 2025 that Cristina Serra, a Brazilian journalist, writer, and fashion entrepreneur and the ex-wife and long-time partner of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, had begun divorce proceedings in 2024 after around three decades together.

Several Spanish outlets, cited by The Sun, claimed tensions emerged after Guardiola decided to extend his Manchester City contract until 2027 without fully discussing the decision with Serra, who had already returned to Barcelona several years earlier. According to Antena 3, Serra later moved out of the couple’s long-time Pedralbes residence and relocated to another property in Barcelona’s Eixample district.

Guardiola, meanwhile, remained largely based in Manchester throughout his City tenure, reportedly living at the Deansgate CitySuites complex in central Manchester after Serra returned permanently to Spain around three years ago. Despite the separation reports, there were also repeated suggestions throughout 2025 that the couple were attempting to repair the relationship. In April 2025, insider Maria Lapiedra told EN Blau: “Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra still wear their wedding rings. They’re trying to reconcile. “He came to her house for three days this Easter and stayed the night there. “He’s saying he could be in Manchester and come see her on a private plane in Barcelona once a week, then leave again. “She wanted to separate because he secretly renewed his contract, without speaking to Cristina, but Pep wants to stay with her.” The couple share three adult children together, including their youngest daughter Valentina, who was also reportedly part of Guardiola’s thinking regarding the villa purchase. According to sources quoted in Spain by The Sun, Guardiola viewed the property not only as a personal residence, but also potentially as a long-term investment for Valentina.

Guardiola’s Manchester City era is reportedly nearing its conclusion

The renewed focus on Guardiola’s Barcelona plans comes alongside mounting reports that his Manchester City reign is now entering its final weeks. The 55-year-old has spent ten years at the Etihad since arriving in 2016, overseeing one of the most dominant periods in English football history. During that time, Guardiola guided City to 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club’s long-awaited UEFA Champions League triumph. He also became the Premier League’s longest-serving current manager and one of the most influential tactical figures the English game has seen in decades. According to current reports, confirmation of Guardiola’s departure is expected imminently, with Manchester City reportedly preparing to celebrate his achievements during an open-top bus parade scheduled for Monday following the end of the season. The reported parade route is expected to begin in Manchester’s Northern Quarter before concluding outside the Colin Bell Stand reception area at the Etihad Stadium.
