Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday appealed to Chief Ministers across the country to provide free bus travel facilities to students appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 scheduled on the 21st, saying candidates and parents were already facing financial and logistical pressure because of the re-examination.In a video message shared on X, Kejriwal said governments should ensure that students reach their examination centres without difficulty and called for immediate support measures ahead of the medical entrance test.

Kejriwal flags financial burden linked to NEET re-exam

Raising concerns over the impact of the re-examination process, Kejriwal said thousands of families were being forced to spend additional money on travel and related arrangements. He stated that many students would have to travel long distances to appear for the examination, increasing pressure on households already dealing with uncertainty surrounding the re-test.He said free bus travel on the examination day could offer direct relief to students and parents and help prevent transportation-related problems from affecting candidates.Kejriwal also asserted that students should not suffer because of circumstances beyond their control and governments must extend all possible assistance during the examination period.

Bihar and Haryana join Punjab in extending transport support

Referring to steps already taken by states, Kejriwal said Bihar and Haryana had followed Punjab’s decision to provide free bus services for NEET UG re-exam candidates. He praised the states for acting quickly and said the move would help make travel easier and safer for thousands of students expected to appear for the examination. According to him, such decisions could significantly reduce stress among candidates and their families.

Call for wider state action ahead of exam day

Kejriwal urged other state governments to announce similar facilities before the examination date, stressing that coordinated administrative support was necessary given the scale of the re-exam.The NEET UG re-examination is expected to witness participation from candidates across multiple states, placing transportation and accessibility at the centre of concerns for many families, especially those travelling from smaller towns and rural areas.
