The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the second board examinations for Secondary School Examination 2026, with papers set to begin May 15, 2026, and conclude May 21, 2026. The date sheet issued from Dwarka, New Delhi, carries subject-wise schedules for core, language, elective and skill papers for Class 10 candidates appearing in the second examination cycle.The examination programme opens with Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic on May 15 in the 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM session. English Communicative and English Language and Literature will be held May 16 in the same session, followed by Science on May 18. Social Science, one of the major subjects, has been scheduled for May 21.Core subjects scheduled across one weekCBSE has spread major academic papers through the week, with gaps between key examinations. Mathematics Standard under subject code 041 and Mathematics Basic under 241 will be conducted together on the opening day.English papers under codes 101 and 184 follow on May 16, while Science under code 086 is fixed for May 18. Sanskrit under code 122 will be held May 20 alongside Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence in separate durations.Social Science under code 087 will close the examination cycle on May 21 in a three-hour session.

Languages and electives placed on May 19A large cluster of language papers has been scheduled for May 19. These include Hindi Course-A, Urdu Course-A, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Manipuri, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, Kannada, Arabic, Tibetan, French, German, Nepali, Limbu and Lepcha.Additional papers on the same day include Hindi Course-B, Bhoti, Telugu-Telangana, Bodo, Japanese, Bhutia, Spanish, Mizo, Sanskrit Communicative, Rai and Urdu Course-B.Most language papers will run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, while Hindustani Music Vocal, Hindustani Music Melodic Instruments, Retail and Introduction to Tourism have two-hour durations ending at 12:30 PM.Skill subjects also includedSkill and additional subjects feature in the schedule, including Home Science on May 19, Painting on May 20, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence on May 20, and vocational papers such as Retail and Introduction to Tourism.The date sheet was issued April 23, 2026, under the authority of Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj. The notification formally confirms the conduct of the second board examination cycle for eligible Class 10 students.
