Department of Commerce keeps consultant recruitment window open till May 20 for multiple contractual positions

NEW DELHI: The Department of Commerce has extended the application deadline for contractual consultant positions under its ongoing recruitment drive for Young Professionals, Associates, Consultants and Senior Consultants. The revised deadline for the May recruitment cycle is May 20, 2026.The recruitment process is being conducted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the Government of India. Applications are being invited for roles across Economics, General Management, Data Science and Legal streams. Candidates are required to submit applications online through the official Department of Commerce website.Application deadline extended for May cycleAccording to the notification issued by the department, the application window for the May cycle has been extended from May 15 to May 20, 2026. The engagement will be on a purely contractual basis.The department has asked interested and eligible candidates to apply online under the “Engagement of Independent Consultants” section available on the official portal. No hard copy of the application form or supporting documents is required to be sent to the department.The detailed advertisement containing eligibility criteria, terms of engagement and other recruitment-related instructions has been made available on the website of the Department of Commerce.Vacancies announced across four streamsThe recruitment process includes openings for Young Professionals, Associates, Consultants and Senior Consultants. The positions are available in four streams — Economics, General Management, Data Science and Legal.Officials stated that the recruitment is part of the department’s contractual engagement process.
