The Madhya Pradesh Police Department has issued a recruitment notification for Constable (Band) posts across multiple units in the state, offering opportunities to candidates with musical skills. The application process, conducted online through the official portal, closes today, marking the final chance for eligible applicants to submit their forms.A total of 679 vacancies are currently advertised in the MP Police Constable Band Recruitment 2026. Candidates recruited for this post shall be stationed in Madhya Pradesh, and their salary will range between Rs 19,500 and Rs 62,000 at Level-1. The notification for MP Police Constable Band Recruitment 2026 has been released on April 5, 2026, and applications shall continue till the same date.Process of applying and important datesOnline application forms are available from April 5, 2026. However, the last date for the submission of the form is April 19, 2026. Corrections for the filled forms may be done till April 24, 2026. Examination schedules will be intimated later on.Candidates shall need to pay Rs 500 for General and Rs 250 for SC/ST/OBC candidates domiciled in Madhya Pradesh. There will also be an additional portal charge of Rs 150 + 18% GST. Candidates are supposed to submit fees online.Criteria of eligibility and available vacanciesThis recruitment scheme is available for applicants within the age limit ranging from 18 to 33 years as per April 19, 2026. Age relaxation shall be allowed as per the stipulated norms. Educational qualification is required as class 10th, whereas applicants from the category of STs can apply even if they are qualified with class 8th with good musical talent.Total 679 posts are available of the position of constable (band) with proficiency in at least one musical instrument.Direct link to apply online for the MP Police Constable Band Recruitment 2026Procedure of selection and requirement of skillsThere is a series of selection processes which begins with the candidate’s ability to prove their proficiency in at least one instrument out of the prescribed list. Thereafter, the band test having total 75 marks with 60 marks allotted to the performance of instrument and bonus marks for other instruments.Subsequently, applicants need to face the interview process having 25 marks. Other stages include physical measurement test, document verification, and medical test.Physical standards and instrument criteriaThe applicants should satisfy certain physical standards, where the minimum heights are 168 cm for General/OBC and flexible physical standards for SC/ST and tribal areas. The chest size differs depending on the category.Applicants should possess expertise on the use of musical instruments, which include flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, French horn, bass tuba, and drums, among others.
