NEET UG 2026 exam rules: The National Testing Agency has issued reminders for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026 as preparations continue for the examination scheduled on May 3, 2026 in pen-and-paper mode across centres in India.The agency had earlier released advance intimation slips on April 12, informing applicants of their allotted examination cities while admit cards are expected to be issued shortly to registered candidates.Exam rules and frisking measuresCandidates will undergo compulsory frisking at entry points using sensitive metal detectors as part of security arrangements outlined in the official information bulletin.NTA has emphasized the importance of following the set guidelines to prevent being disqualified during any part of the exam.Dress Code for CandidatesCandidates are expected to dress appropriately by wearing loose and light clothes without wearing long sleeves. The recommended footwear includes slippers and flat-heeled shoes. Wearing of accessories like watches and bangles is prohibited.Those opting for customary attire must report at least one hour before the last reporting time and complete frisking formalities.Items prohibited inside examination centresThe agency has listed several items that are strictly barred within examination premises, including any textual material, stationery items such as calculators or writing pads, and electronic devices.Mobile phones, bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones and health bands are not permitted, along with personal belongings like wallets, handbags, belts and caps.Food articles, water bottles, and metal accessories are not allowed except when permission is taken before due to health reasons.Instructions regarding OMR sheet and Identity ProofStudents should be careful while filling the OMR sheet and should use the pen provided in the exam centre only.Valid original identification proof remains mandatory for entry, and candidates without it will not be allowed inside the venue.The NTA has also clarified that watches of any kind are not allowed and no electronic gadgets should be carried to the examination hall.Candidates are required to reach their centres within the stipulated reporting time and follow all instructions issued by invigilators during the examination.Failure to comply with guidelines may result in denial of entry or further action under examination regulations set by the agency.The advisory was shared on X to address common candidate queries.
