The National Institute of Design (NID) has announced the counselling schedule for the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026 on its official website. The institute has also released the provisional offer letter for Master of Design (MDes) round 1 counselling on May 21, 2026.Meanwhile, the NID DAT Bachelor of Design (BDes) mains result 2026 will be announced on or before May 28, 2026. After the declaration of results, the counselling process for shortlisted BDes candidates will begin.Candidates can check all updates on the official website, admissions.nid.edu.
NID DAT 2026 counselling dates
According to the official schedule, the counselling registration process for BDes admissions will begin from the date of result declaration and continue till May 31, 2026.Candidates shortlisted for counselling will have to upload and submit important documents, including:
- Educational certificates
- Birth certificate
- Valid photo identity proof
- Other required documents
The last date for document submission is May 31, 2026.The seat allotment result for NID DAT 2026 counselling will be announced on June 9, 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats must confirm their admission and pay the token fee by June 11, 2026.
NID DAT 2026 counselling process
Only candidates who qualify both stages of the NID entrance examination — Prelims and Mains — will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.The NID DAT counselling process includes:

Seats will be allotted based on:
- NID DAT mains score
- Candidate’s category
- Campus preferences submitted during counselling
- Seat availability
