'PM Modi should have sacked you': Rahul Gandhi, Dharmendra Pradhan trade barbs over CBSE OSM controversy

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday hit back at Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan hours after Pradhan defended the contract given to COEMPT for CBSE results. The row comes amid complaints by several students and parents over alleged low marks, totalling mistakes and issues linked to the CBSE’s online evaluation process. In a post on X, the Congress leader accused Pradhan of being complicit and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have removed him from office if he truly cared about students.“Dharmendra Pradhan ji, you can attack me all you want, but it won’t absolve you of your crimes. Nor will it stop me from demanding answers for 18.5 lakh children,” Rahul wrote in a post on X.“If the PM cared, he should have sacked you long ago for ruining the futures of lakhs of students,” he added.Responding to Rahul’s earlier post, Pradhan on Thursday had alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appeared frustrated due to continuous electoral defeats and did not stand with India’s scientific progress. The Education Minister also accused Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly opposing India’s technological and scientific progress. At the same time, he appealed to political leaders not to increase stress among students.“Rahul Gandhi seems to have reached a different state of mind. Due to continuous electoral defeats, he appears frustrated. He opposed SIR, he used to oppose EVMs, and he opposed Digital India. He does not seem to stand with India’s scientific progress,” Pradhan said.Rahul in a post on Wednesday had questioned the contract given to COEMPT, a company he claimed had earlier faced controversy under its previous name, Globarena.“Name changed—but the intent the same, the nature the same. Everyone knew the history, yet the contract was still awarded. The future of 1.85 million children was handed over to such a company, and no one batted an eye. This isn’t a mistake—it’s a deliberate conspiracy,” Rahul wrote.
