Streamer Dalton Eatherly, better known online as ChudTheBuilder, has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting outside a courthouse in Clarksville on Wednesday, May 13. Authorities said the 28-year-old internet personality was involved in a confrontation with another man that later turned violent. The incident quickly drew attention online because of the streamer’s controversial past and viral public videos that often sparked criticism on social media.According to officials, the shooting happened outside the Montgomery County courthouse. District Attorney Robert J. Nash confirmed that both Eatherly and another unidentified man were involved in the altercation. While investigators have not shared what started the dispute, both men were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities later confirmed that both were in stable condition. The case has now become one of the most talked-about incidents involving a livestream personality this week.

ChudTheBuilder faces attempted murder and assault charges after courthouse shooting

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Eatherly is facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony. Officials also confirmed that he is currently being held at the Montgomery County jail until bond is decided during an arraignment hearing.Police have not publicly identified the second man involved in the confrontation. However, a witness who claimed she saw the aftermath of the incident said the injured man was loaded into an ambulance shortly after the shooting. Authorities have not shared further details about his identity or condition.The incident has also renewed discussion around Eatherly’s past behavior online. Local resident Claire Martin, who works across the street from the courthouse, claimed that the streamer was already well known in Clarksville for allegedly provoking people while filming public videos. She accused him of yelling racial slurs and trying to get reactions from strangers during livestreams.Martin said she did not witness the shooting itself but saw what happened afterward. According to her, the other man appeared conscious and even waved at people before entering the ambulance.As the investigation continues, many online users are closely following the case, especially because of ChudTheBuilder’s controversial internet reputation and history of viral confrontations.
