PUNE: Taural India, a leading aluminium sand casting manufacturer, has been featured in a Harvard Business School case study, placing the company among a select group of global enterprises studied at one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions. The case study follows the journey of Bharat Gite, Founder and CEO of Taural India, and the development of a high-precision aluminium casting business in India through a joint venture with the Germany-based Thoni Alutec Group. It traces the company’s evolution from its founding in 2016 to becoming a globally relevant manufacturing platform serving sectors such as energy, railways, defence, and aerospace.Authored by Professor V.G. Narayanan, the case study offers insights into how first-generation entrepreneurs can build globally competitive enterprises in capital-intensive industries, even without legacy advantages or established industrial networks. The Harvard Business School case study was formally launched in Mumbai at an exclusive gathering of leaders from business, policy, and academia, including former Industry Minister Subhash Desai. The case also comes at a time when global supply chains are being reconfigured, with India emerging as a key destination for advanced manufacturing under the China+1 strategy.Commenting on the case, Professor V.G. Narayanan, Thomas D. Casserly, Jr. Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, said, “Taural India’s journey highlights what it takes to build manufacturing capability in an emerging market environment. It demonstrates how global collaboration and local execution can come together to create enterprises that are both resilient and globally competitive.Bharat Gite, Founder & CEO, Taural India, said, “This recognition is a proud and humbling moment for all of us at Taural India. Our journey has been about building from first principles, overcoming constraints, and proving that Indian manufacturing can meet global standards. Being featured as a case study at Harvard Business School reinforces our belief that with the right intent, discipline, and partnerships, it is possible to build for India and for the world.Founded in 2016, Taural India has grown into a specialised aluminium casting manufacturer with two facilities at Chakan & Supa (Ahilyanagar) in Maharashtra and a growing global footprint. The company’s journey reflects a broader shift in global supply chains, with India emerging as a key destination for advanced manufacturing and long-term industrial investment, Gite added.
