UP to recruit 10,000 teachers for urban schools under Basic Education Council

UP government teachers recruitment 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the process for the recruitment of 10,000 new teachers for schools located in urban areas under the Basic Education Council. The development was announced by Sandeep Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Primary Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh.According to the minister, a requisition for the recruitment process has already been submitted and appointments will begin shortly. The announcement was made through a public statement highlighting the state government’s focus on education and employment generation for young people in Uttar Pradesh.Recruitment process initiated for urban schoolsThe proposed recruitment drive will cover schools functioning in urban areas under the Basic Education Council. The state government stated that the move is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and address staffing requirements in schools.Sandeep Singh said the recruitment of teachers would create employment opportunities for aspiring candidates seeking positions in the education sector. He added that the process for appointing instructors in upper primary schools would also be undertaken alongside the teacher recruitment exercise.The minister stated that the initiative is linked to the broader objective of expanding access to education and increasing employment opportunities for youth across the state.Appointments planned for upper primary schoolsApart from the recruitment of teachers in urban schools, the government has also announced the selection of instructors for upper primary schools. Details regarding the number of posts and the schedule for appointments have not yet been released.The minister said requisitions related to the recruitment process have already been forwarded for approval. The appointments are expected to proceed after the completion of administrative formalities.The announcement comes as the Uttar Pradesh government continues to focus on staffing requirements in schools managed under the Basic Education Council framework. Recruitment drives in the education sector are considered significant for addressing vacancies in teaching positions and supporting classroom instruction in government-run institutions.In his statement, Sandeep Singh also referred to the initiative as part of efforts to support the aspirations of candidates seeking teaching careers in the state.
