UPSC CDS 2, NDA 2 notification and application process 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated the process for Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination 2 and National Defence Academy 2 examinations for the year 2026. Notifications for both exams have already been made available on the official website of UPSC. Candidates aspiring to become a part of the Indian Armed Forces can apply online for the examination.As per the official schedule, the application process has begun from May 20, 2026, and will end on June 9, 2026. The examination for UPSC CDS 2 and UPSC NDA 2 is scheduled to be held on September 13, 2026.This CDS Examination is one of the most competitive defense recruitment exams in the country. With this examination, candidates can secure admissions into some of the reputed defense academies like Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy.The recruitment process involves a written examination, followed by SSB Interview and a Medical test. Those candidates qualifying all rounds will be provided an opportunity to join Indian Armed Forces through Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates planning to apply are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification. The criteria generally include educational qualification, age limit, and physical fitness requirements.Graduates from recognised universities are usually eligible for several courses under CDS. But there are some academies that need some qualifications such as Navy Academy and Air Force Academy, which require technical or engineering knowledge.In case of NDA 2, applications are eligible from candidates who are doing or have done class 12th examination.

  3. If you are a new candidate, then first complete the OTR process.
  4. Enter your login credentials.
  5. Enter all the personal, educational, and communication details carefully.
  6. Attach the relevant documents in the required format, which include your photograph, signature, and identity proof.
  7. Make the necessary payment of the application fee through online modes of payment.
  8. Finally, submit the application form.
