CBSE Class 10 Second Board exam 2026: LOC submission opens April 16 for five days, schools to manage strict registration process

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 board examination results for 2026 today, April 15, 2026. The board announced an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent, reflecting a marginal improvement over last year and indicating continued stability in student performance.According to CBSE’s official schedule, schools will be required to complete LOC submission for the second board examination starting April 16, 2026, with the window remaining open for only five days. The board has stressed that the timeline is non-negotiable, and the system will automatically close at 11:59:59 PM on the final day of the window. Any delay or incomplete submission will directly impact a student’s eligibility to appear in the second board examination scheduled for May 2026.

Schools take full control of LOC process

In a significant shift in examination administration, CBSE has placed the entire LOC responsibility on school authorities. Principals and designated staff will be required to:

  • Verify student eligibility for the second board examination
  • Confirm subject-wise registration for improvement or compartment cases
  • Ensure accuracy of student data before submission
  • Upload and finalise entries through the CBSE portal within the deadline

CBSE has directed schools to exercise strict caution, as errors in LOC submission may lead to disqualification or subject mismatch during the examination process.

Who must submit LOC in this phase

The April 16 LOC window applies specifically to:

  • Students opting for improvement in up to three subjects after the main examination
  • Students placed in the compartment category in Class 10 results 2026
  • Candidates eligible under the second board examination framework

Each category may have different subject combinations depending on eligibility, and schools are expected to guide students accordingly before final submission.

Fee submission linked to LOC cycle

CBSE has also reiterated that the LOC submission process is directly tied to examination fee payment, which must be completed within the same short operational window.Schools will be required to collect and remit fees within the notified period, ensuring that LOC entries are validated without delay. The board has warned that incomplete fee submission will render LOC entries invalid.
