Record 83.86% students clear Gujarat board Class 10 exams

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) announced a record-breaking 83.86% pass rate for Class 10 students this year. The result surpassed last year’s record of 83.08%, marking a 0.78% improvement.Among the districts, Narmada had the highest pass percentage, at 90.85%, while Panchmahals recorded the lowest, at 76.42%. At the exam centre level, Ajol in Gandhinagar achieved exceptional 100% results, while Munkholsa in Dahod recorded just a 33.74% pass rate. In all, 35,508 students secured an A-1 grade compared to 29,055 last year — an increase of 6,453 students.Once again, female students outperformed their male counterparts. Girls recorded a pass rate of 88.28% compared to boys’ 80.12%, a difference of 8.16%.The exams were conducted from Feb and March. Evaluation began during the exam period itself and concluded in time for the early declaration of results. This year, 7,56,392 regular students took the exam and 6,34,327 cleared it. Of the 67,404 repeat students who took the exam, only 22598 passed, resulting in a 33.53% pass rate. English medium students performed the best among all mediums with a 92.50% result, followed by Gujarati medium at 82.67% and Hindi medium at 77.20%.The number of schools achieving a 100% pass rate rose from 1,574 last year to 1,697 this year. Meanwhile, schools with less than 30% results decreased from 201 to 164, and zero-result schools declined from 45 t0 39.
